Our Production Designer and “Asha Sage,” Logan Howe, has gone into labor! We are all wishing her well and hope she recovers safely and quickly from the miracle of life. (For those of you who thought we couldn’t make this any crazier, we just proved you wrong.)

At long last, we have substantial and confirmed news for our summer feature project!

  • The title of the film will be What Light Remains. (The name Fear Itself was scrapped due to other previously existing works by the same name).
  • Our cast is complete, except for one small role. We are waiting on confirmation of an offer for that part.
  • Recent additions to what has rapidly become an illustrious cast include Courtney Gains. Check out the official site for our film to learn more about his previous credits.
  • Our key locations have been finalized and we are still targeting a June 1 start date.
  • The film will be produced under an Ultra Low Budget Agreement with the Screen Actors Guild, allowing us the flexibility of casting both union as well as non-union actors.

Stay tuned to the official site for updates as the production gets underway!

Casting announcements for our upcoming production are imminent. In the meantime, amuse yourselves with this snippet of a day in the life of Champlain Motion Pictures…

Steve: i’m kind of intrigued by this
Steve: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/hancock/
Steve: will smith is a bum who happens to have superpowers, basically

Jayson: the “throwing the kid” thing makes me hate it so much
Steve: it’s a comedy
Jayson: no no no
Jayson: never okay
Steve: comic license
Jayson: it is not an “airplane” movie
Steve: i don’t get your objection
Steve: superman could realistically do it
Steve: but he wouldn’t
Steve: because he’s honorable
Jayson: the kid should have been dead from hitting his arm
Steve: oh
Jayson: physics
Jayson: it means the filmmakers didn’t care about smart people
Steve: he used his super strength to cushion the blow without you noticing
Steve: or something
Steve: lol
Jayson: like telekinesis?
Jayson: like stopping all his vital organs from exploding?
Steve: man, you have no suspension of disbelief at all, do you?
Jayson: not with movie that are physics based
Jayson: it bores me when something is unreal
Jayson: i can tell
Jayson: which means there is a 5% chance of liking it
Jayson: which means there is a 95% chance of wasting my time
Steve: OK FINE
Steve: lol
Steve: I LIKE WILL SMITH AND SUPERHEROES
Steve: I BELIEVE TRAILERS
Steve: i think i need a support group
Jayson: ha ha
Jayson: yah its too bad brian singer or chris nolan didn’t do it
Jayson: i’m sure the special effects will be ok
Jayson: although the whale thing looked bad
Steve: special effects are stupid
Steve: i like will smith, good hero stories and zingers
Jayson: well there you go
Jayson: i do too
Jayson: but not a bad one
Steve: i think we should write a superhero movie kind of like this, except that the superpower the hero has is almost entirely useless
Jayson: wasn’t there a comedy like that
Steve: not that i know of
Steve: unless you’re thinking of mystery men
Jayson: yeah
Jayson: didn’t see it but i thought that was it
Steve: but that’s different
Jayson: oh
Steve: i’m thinking, not make it a comedy
Steve: make it a depressing drama
Steve: lol
Jayson: ahh
Jayson: well i had an idea for a guy that could heal people
Jayson: but that is useful
Steve: too useful
Jayson: yah but i love the idea
Jayson: scientists would try to catch him
Steve: …is that it?
Jayson: no
Steve: lol
Jayson: that’s the exciting part
Steve: haha
Steve: the exciting part of my superhero drama would be when he wins his third appeal in court
Steve: lol
Jayson: hooo-ah

On Saturday, May 10th, Champlain Motion Pictures proudly presented Jayson Argento’s first feature film, Finding Providence, at Merrill’s Roxy Theatre in Burlington, VT.  Despite an early show time of 11 AM on a beautiful Saturday, attendance was high and the endeavor was an overall success.

Many of the cast and crew were in attendance, including Jayson Argento (who also played the role of Curtis) and Logan Howe (Gwyneth), both pictured above.  Also spotted in the crowd were Jim Reid (Loy Gluckman) and local television host Tim Kavanagh.

Many thanks to everyone who came out to support us at this event.  You helped make what is shaping up to be a very exciting new project possible.
