Well, it’s been a while!  Glad to say it’s because we’ve been busy.  Here’s the status of our current works-in-progress, for anyone who is wondering:

What Light Remains – is currently on Jayson’s editing desk.  We hear that his girlfriend is helping him.  Estimated date of completion is approximately sometime in the future.

The Cthulhu Chronicles – is also in the can, and on Eric’s editing desk.  He’s getting set up for post audio work and is aiming for completing by winter’s end.

Tin Can – is about 50% complete.  Left to shoot are all of the soundstage scenes.  We are hoping to have those done by the end of November.

Our future plans currently entail the completion of these three projects, followed by instantaneous fame and fortune.  (Or maybe a festival or two).

Well we did it, I’m amazed at the amount of passion that was on the set. You were all incredible. I believe we have made some connections that will last a life time. I don’t understand people that don’t follow their dreams. but one thing is for sure, the cast and crew of WLR are very ambitious people that know what they want to do with their lives. The hope now is to make something of this film and we all can quit our day jobs and make movies full time. sound fun? I think so. Right now I feel lost. I feel a bit depressed. I feel like I should be filming. I hate this feeling. So we are gonna have to start up again soon.

Again thank you so much.

Cheers

Champlain Motion Pictures is hosting a fundraiser at the end of March or in April. We are looking for bands that want to play for 30 minutes to an hour. We are not totally sure where we want to have this event yet but more than likely it will be in Burlington somewhere.

The fundraiser is for the upcoming feature production being shot this June. The movie is tentatively called “Fear Itself.” It stars Larry Holden (Batman Begins, Memento, and Insomnia) and it will be directed by Jayson Argento (Finding Providence). We intend to cast and crew this feature locally from Vermont mostely.

As part of this fundraiser you will be donating your time so the money earned from the event will go to the production cost of the movie. Your reward, besides helping a local dream come true, is that you will have secured a spot on the soundtrack of the feature and be seriously considered for a sound bite in the movie itself. We will also be recording the event with cameras and you can have a copy.

Please email us at contact@champlainpictures.com

P.S. have a way for us to hear your music online. (myspace or something like that.)

Cheers

Okay on top of doing the movie this Summer with Larry Holden we have decided to take on even more fun. I have always wanted to be involved with an adventure TV show. Some of my favorites are Star Trek, Star Gate, X Files and so on. In 2003 I made a little short called “Cthulhu Chronicles: Episode One, The Ropes” it was great fun and I may continue with that and make a Part Two. There is another idea in the works for a TV Pilot and it looks very promising as well. More later as this unfolds.

Cheers

Things are looking pretty busy for us in the upcoming months. Here’s a rough outline of the milestone goals we are currently targeting:

  • Casting & crew hires for our Fear Itself1 feature project starting in February
  • Editing of the Nowhere Found music video, hopefully to start this week or next
  • Final work on the Nowhere Found live DVD release
  • Location hunts for the feature
  • Principal photography on the feature to begin late May/early June
  • Further work on our Cthulhu projects, including the serialization of the CC concept (more on that from Jayson in the next few days)
  • Fundraising! Look for info on some fun events in the next few weeks.

If you’ve already sent in your cast/crew application for the feature, there’s no need to do so again. We are archiving everything and will be going through our selection process starting in February. If you haven’t yet submitted, please do so via email: talent@champlainpictures.com for casting; crew@champlainpictures.com for crew.

And regarding that last item, we happen to have a Nintendo Wii bundle still for sale. It is a two-player bundle with a few games included, and can be yours in support of our films for a reasonable price. Just drop us a line!
