Champlain Motion Pictures, the producers of Finding Providence and What Light Remains, is seeking passionate and motivated crew members for its upcoming feature length film.  The production will take place in November of 2008.  There will be 15-20 days of shooting, mostly on weekdays – some days, some nights.  Approximately 50% will be exterior; camping may be involved.

There is no guaranteed pay for any of these positions. We are a tiny, startup film production company with no investors currently.  We do our best to take care of our people, but that does not include monetary compensation at this time.  We feed ourselves on passion and drink motivation.  If you cannot work for the love of the craft, please do not apply.

We are looking for the following:

  • Director of Photography
  • Sound Supervisor
  • Locations Manager(s)
  • Script Supervisor
  • Production Designer
  • Assistant Lighting Designer
  • Production Assistants (at least 3) – valid license and vehicle required
  • Craft Services Coordinator
  • Makeup & Hairstylist
  • Talent Handler
  • Propsmaster
  • Also:
  • Interested in filmmaking but have no experience?  We can always use motivated people.  Learn with us as we learn with you.  Just tell us what you’re about and what interests you.

To apply, send an email with no attachments to crew@champlainpictures.com.  Put your resume and any pertinent information in the body of the email.  Emails with attachments will be deleted on sight.

Roles available for all walks of life

From the Writer & Director of Finding Providence
comes Champlain Motion Pictures newest feature film project and the proud announcement of major talent under contract: FEAR ITSELF (Working title)
to be directed by Jayson Argento
and featuring Larry Holden in a major supporting role

SHOOTING IN JUNE!

|

Champlain Motion Pictures is hosting a fundraiser at the end of March or in April. We are looking for bands that want to play for 30 minutes to an hour. We are not totally sure where we want to have this event yet but more than likely it will be in Burlington somewhere.

The fundraiser is for the upcoming feature production being shot this June. The movie is tentatively called “Fear Itself.” It stars Larry Holden (Batman Begins, Memento, and Insomnia) and it will be directed by Jayson Argento (Finding Providence). We intend to cast and crew this feature locally from Vermont mostely.

As part of this fundraiser you will be donating your time so the money earned from the event will go to the production cost of the movie. Your reward, besides helping a local dream come true, is that you will have secured a spot on the soundtrack of the feature and be seriously considered for a sound bite in the movie itself. We will also be recording the event with cameras and you can have a copy.

Please email us at contact@champlainpictures.com

P.S. have a way for us to hear your music online. (myspace or something like that.)

Cheers

Okay I have a ton of Headshots and Resumes. Its time to start the process of casting.  First thing you should know is the feature will be shot in May/June, June 1st through 10th are locked with Larry Holden. More dates will be built at the beginning or end of those ten.

With that being said, you should have a very flexible schedule if you are interested in a large role in this feature.  Quit your jobs, say goodbye to the family, pet your dog, time to go follow your dreams.

I am anticipating this feature will take about 15 days to shoot the principal photography, give or take 3 days. There are always pick-up shots after that, which are a day or two, and then depending on how we do the FX shots, a few days of that.

SAG or Non-SAG? I don’t know yet.  But either way all are welcome.

Auditions? You will receive an email from me, (assuming i have your email), that will start the availability process.  After I have that narrowed down I will invite people to audition. There is no sense in auditioning if you are going to be in Antarctica for the summer.

If you haven’t joined our newsletter please do so. It helps us a lot. Also you can email me at talent@champlainpictures.com

Cheers

Things are looking pretty busy for us in the upcoming months. Here’s a rough outline of the milestone goals we are currently targeting:

  • Casting & crew hires for our Fear Itself1 feature project starting in February
  • Editing of the Nowhere Found music video, hopefully to start this week or next
  • Final work on the Nowhere Found live DVD release
  • Location hunts for the feature
  • Principal photography on the feature to begin late May/early June
  • Further work on our Cthulhu projects, including the serialization of the CC concept (more on that from Jayson in the next few days)
  • Fundraising! Look for info on some fun events in the next few weeks.

If you’ve already sent in your cast/crew application for the feature, there’s no need to do so again. We are archiving everything and will be going through our selection process starting in February. If you haven’t yet submitted, please do so via email: talent@champlainpictures.com for casting; crew@champlainpictures.com for crew.

And regarding that last item, we happen to have a Nintendo Wii bundle still for sale. It is a two-player bundle with a few games included, and can be yours in support of our films for a reasonable price. Just drop us a line!
